Joe "jas" Srogoncik

Joe started his music career in Cleveland Ohio, where he started playing bass in 1970. Joe was mainly inspired by the Blues Scene at first, but gradually branched out to embrace the Classic Rock, Southern Rock, and Country Scene. Joe played in such projects as The Laurel Mountain Gang ,Arpeggio Verdillac, Rock Salt and Nails, The Canale Bros. Band, and the most notable, 20/20 Recording Artists, The Mike “Mad Dog” Adams Band, which toured the East, South and Mid West, opening and crossing paths with many national acts,during the 70's...After leaving the Mad Dog Band in 1978, Joe Played with The Canale Bros Band on the Country/Urban Bar Scene before moving to Phoenix Arizona in 1983.. Joe attended the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery, and obtained a Luthiers Certificate, and opened and successfully ran a custom instrument and repair shop called Lil Skutter Guitar Works, for about 10 years. The shop was eventually closed so Joe could spend more time as a musician. Joe collaborated with many projects, such as Dead Center, Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Leo Red, Bent Blue, Soulstorm, AZ Voodoo, Shannon Lee and The Line Up, The Cramer Sanchez Band ,Cal Cramer and the Goods, The Jim Marr Band, and Full Moon Mojo. Of all these projects, The Leo Red Band established the more notoriety. The Band toured all over the Southwest playing electric blues, and original material from 2 recorded cds. The band opened on occasion for acts such as Coco Montoya, James Cotton, and Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown. Joe also had a small sound company, and provided sound at local blues clubs for artists such as Tinsley Ellis, Tab Benoit, Kim Simmons, Coco Montoya, James Cotton, and Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers. Skutter Shack Recording Studio was another one of Joe’s projects while in Phoenix. He recorded and provided promo cd’s for various local club acts as well as bands that he performed in. Joe and his wife Cindy, upon retiring have relocated to Colorado, and live at the bass of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Since moving to Colorado Joe has performed with local Salida Artist and Broken Strings Guitar Shop owner, Chris Nasca. Joe has also played with Walsenburg singer/songwriter Ellioitt Baker, and local artist Ric Bolinger and Texas Creek Panic ...Joe is currently staying busy performing with Salida artist Beau Bones, The Frady Catz, local classic rock band, local Americana recording artist Dennis Hagerty,and the Beau Bones and The Heebie Jeebies Band...Joe is also busy providing bass instrument repair,misc.
